While the exam policy does state to wait at least 7 days, a possible way around this is should you fail the delta exam is to take the full VCP exam within 7 days because this is a different exam and passing it would renew your VCP certification. But this is provided you did not take the same full VCP exam to achieve your certification previously.

Note that I do not work for VMware, so this is simply a possible idea that might work in getting around your problem.
