Hi All,
I am confused about Vmware certifications.
I am from a strong network background and have currently and i want to ask the VCP NV prerequisites and the current VCP NV exam code?
I heard that if you got cisco certifications you are eligible to sit for the VCP NV otherwise you have to do the VCA NV , is that correct please and which cisco certifications can be used as a prerequisite?
lastly if you can give me more infos about this VCP NV certificate plz.

There's no connection between VCA and VCP certifications - VCAs are not a pre-requisite for VCPs.
You can bypass the training requirement for VCP6-NV if you hold certain Cisco certifications - but you must still pass 2 exams.
The screenshot above this reply comes from this page: VCP6-NV Certification

Hi Scott28tt and Senthilkumarms89,
Thank you for your answers
I have seen this and got me confused. If I have a ccna R&S , I can sit for the VCP NV exam
OR I have to have ccna R&S and complete the sphere exam then i can sit for the VCP NV exam?
Thank you again

Path 2 on the page: VCP6-NV Certification
1. Submit proof of your CCNA
2. Pass vSphere Foundations exam
3. Pass VCP6-NV exam

I know this information out there but just want confirmation. If you used a CCNP as the prerequisite for VCP6-NV, can you then bypass the course requirement for DCV as an existing VCP? I think this did not used to be the case, hoping someone could verify as existing requirements on the DCV track seem to indicate you can. Sorry for hijacking the thread and I'm sure this has been been answered before. My apologies.

Yes.
No matter how you achieve your VCP6-NV, once you have it you are an existing/current VCP holder - so you can "use" it to achieve other VCPs with no hard training requirement.

There's nothing to stop you taking ("writing") the exams - anyone can take any VCP level exam - it's whether you would have met all the requirements to be awarded the certification or not that is key.
I'm answering your questions below as if you had asked if you would be certified for VCP6-NV:
If my CCNA is expired, can I write VCP6-NV?
No - VMware will validate your certification, as mentioned here: How to Request Verification of your Cisco Certification
If i have VCA-DBT, can i write VCP6-NV?
No - the VCA certification is not connected to any of the VCPs.
You can review the various paths for VCP6-NV here: VMware Certified Professional 6 – Network Virtualization (VCP6-NV)
Based on your questions, your path would be "no VCP certifications" - meaning you'd have to attend training plus pass 2 exams.

Both the VCP-NV 2020 tracks (for NSX-V and NSX-T) have a path for those with Cisco certifications.
Check here for details: VMware Certified Professional - Network Virtualization 2020 (VCP-NV 2020)
