Spring Professional Develop (2V0-72.22), it is mandatory to do one of training as mentioned

Hi Team,

I am planning to give  Spring Professional Develop (2V0-72.22) certification, can anyone help me it is mandatory to take one of the training courses as mentioned in step 2 for link (https://www.vmware.com/learning/certification/spring-certified-pro.html).

without that course it is not valid?

"Required" means exactly that - both step 2 and step 3 are mandatory.
