VMware Spring Professional Certification

Dear all,

I was studying for the certification EDU-1202, to get the badge without the required course.

Now, it's retired. I'm wondering if VMware is planning a new certification, without pay the expensive and mandatory course.

Another vendor like Microsoft and Oracle, offer a course, but they aren't a requirement, even because, usually, these certification

are self payed.

Thank you

Manuel

I doubt it, all other VCPs have a training requirement, now this one does too.

Any update on this? I also wanted to go to the exam without the courses. When and why the course became mandatory again?

ALL VMware Certifications have always required a mandatory course before you can be awarded the certification.  Even if you pass the exam without taking the course.  It's likely been that they don't want to have 'paper experts' out there, who only crammed to pass an exam without actually learning the material.

Not sure why you’re expecting a different answer to the one I gave 2 days ago.

This VCP now has the same type of requirements as all the others.

It isn't correct, because there are people certified on Spring 5 with the exam EDU12, they payed just the exam.

I could understand if with the new version Spring 6, VMware could change the rules, I spent a lot of time studying this exam, and now I can't do it becasue the course is too expensive, they aren't serious

They had to make the switch at some point to bring this VCP in line with all the others, both exam options were available in parallel for some time, with an expiry date published for the now retired exam.

You could email certification@vmware.com to have your say, but I very much doubt that anything will change/revert back, for the reasons above,
