Hi Jesse,
The deprecation of APIs is our heads-up to you about our intention to stop supporting them in a future release. Decision on what release we will actually do it in is taken for each API separately based on feedback from partners, usage of the API, vSphere Client security and performance considerations, product architecture, rate of partner migration to new APIs and recommendations, etc.
As the traditional API lifecycle goes it is certain that this cannot happen on a patch or update release.
At the moment we have not removed any deprecated extension points from the vSphere Client but it is still unclear if we are going to remove any in the next major vSphere release.
