Direct Flex for Google Chrome isn't working

Hello,

As soon as I activate DirectFlex for Google Chrome, no more profile data is saved on the share.

I use DEM 10.1 (2009), Google Chrome 64Bit 88.0.4324.150 and the DEM template from VMware from the Marketplace.

Template Config is:

[IncludeRegistryTrees.]
HKCU\Software\Google\Chrome

[IncludeFolderTrees.]
<LocalAppData>\Google\Chrome

[ExcludeFolderTrees.]
<LocalAppData>\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Application Cache
<LocalAppData>\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache
<LocalAppData>\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Local Storage
<LocalAppData>\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Media Cache

[ExcludeFiles.]
*.tmp

DirectFlex Path:
%ProgramFiles%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe.

If I switch off DirectFlex and let the data synchronise on login/logout, everything works.

Is it perhaps due to the many processes that Google Chrome opens? The background processes are terminated when Google Chrome is closed.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi @Christian96,

Those child processes (well, the fact that Chrome terminates them abruptly) are indeed why the DirectFlex export at application exit does not occur. However, at logoff a fallback mechanism should kick in to perform that "missed" export as part of the path-based export.

Can you provide a FlexEngine DEBUG log file that covers a full session, from logon to logoff, with the path-based import, DirectFlex import, and the path-based export?

For us, we export at the log off however we've ran into issues with importing wen Directflex was in use. Once we switched it to import at logon it appears to be working. To me it seems like chrome is running some processes at the logon and that is why directflex is not working but I might be wrong. Similarly, we are using Cisco Jabber that launches at the machine boot and logs in user automatically when user logs in. For this one I wish I could use direct flex but it doesn't seem to work either.
