File extention when you need same extention to run in two different version of the same application...

Hi.

I have an issue that i need to solve.

We have two different systems that our users need to use in their daily work, but these systems must use their own version of precut. Both are using file extention .edlp.

So i need to install 2 different versions of precut on my clients.

Both systems are web based systems, that will start the .edlp file in precut, depending of which website it comes from.

Is it possible to use UEM to set some userpolicyes regarding this?

Environment variables?

Some kind of script?

I might been posting this in the wrong forum, if so, my apologize.

Best regards

Hi lansti,

I'm afraid that's not possible. FTA's only support a single application for a particular file extension, and although you could maybe use some conditions to decide which application that should be, that choice then applies until you refresh the FTA configuration. That is, there is no way with UEM to make this sufficiently dynamic.

I don't think there's an appealing solution for this anyway, I'm afraid... The best I can come up with is to create a specific "version selector" application and associate that with the .edlp extension. That application could then ask the user which web site they downloaded the file from, and launch the corresponding version of the application.
