Yikes! I didn't even remember that the drive was clone. Now I guess there is no way to ever open the child?

I take it that a hex editor was used to modify the file? I will give it a try, but it's not too critical. For some reason, last week I had moved all my data files from the guest to my host. I think I'll just keep all data off of the guest, and never clone.
