Feature Request: Include support for bin/cue Audio CD Images in VMware Workstation Pro
Why doesn't VMware Workstation support bin/cue audio CD Images, when DOSBox, VirtualBox, 86Box, PCem, QEMU, and other similar platforms do?
These are all free virtualizers or emulators. VMware costs $200 for proprietary software that only supports ISO images, not bin/cue CDRWIN images. Why is it that in November 2023, only ISO images are mountable in VMware?
I tried using Daemon tools, WinCDEmu, PowerISO Virtual Drive, etc. I CAN mount the bin/cue Images but can't play the audio tracks.
Remember. VMware Workstation Pro is a $200 proprietary software. You cannot mount bin/cue images but VirtualBox can.
I don't want to switch to VirtualBox, but I have to use a freeware virtualizer to mount bin/cue files, which is unacceptable. Why doesn't VMware Workstation Pro support bin/cue CD images like other virtualizers? Even though it costs $200, it only supports ISO, not the Red Book Format also called bin/cue CDRWIN images. I have tried other software like Daemon Tools, WinCDEmu, and PowerISO Virtual Drive, but none of them worked for playing the audio tracks. I am forced to use a freeware virtualizer to mount bin/cue images, which is very frustrating.
Could you please add support for bin/cue files?

We need this feature otherwise my audio CDs that I ripped a while back are useless.

Why can't you simply use an audio/media player program on your host?

Yes, but VMware Workstation still does not allow bin/cue mounting but freeware VirtualBox does?
Think of that.

Using VirtualBox is only a partial fix. VMware should have bin/cue mounting.
