VMware Workstation 17.0.2-21581411 Setup Wizard ended prematurely because of an error
Hello!
So I tried to install VMware Workstation Pro 17.0.2-21581411. But the installation ends with the message:
Repeated attempts to reinstall, including with system administrator rights, ended with the same message.
Earlier in the community I met several similar questions and support answers to them, tried to follow the recommendations from them, but the result is the same.
Host is Windows 11 (64bit) with latest updates. I looked at log but its not understandable to me.
How can this be fixed?
Sincerely,
Vasiliy Boldyrev

You are getting error status 1603. Here are some (older) suggestions from MSFT:
You may receive this error message if any one of the following conditions is true:
- Windows Installer is attempting to install an app that is already installed on your PC.
- The folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is encrypted.
- The drive that contains the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to is accessed as a substitute drive.
- The SYSTEM account does not have Full Control permissions on the folder that you are trying to install the Windows Installer package to. You notice the error message because the Windows Installer service uses the SYSTEM account to install software.
