Is there a way to use an .ovf with vmdk file, but no .nvram in Workstation Pro?

Hey everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right area to ask this question, it's my first post here, but let me know if it isn't and I can move it.

I don't think I worded the title very well, but I had VM sent to me that consists of an ovf and vmdk file that I need to use in Workstation Pro. When I try to open the ovf file though I get an error that it "failed to read from file:" and lists a missing .nvram.

I'm relatively sure that there's a way to use this VM without the nvram file, but not sure how to go about it.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can’t move it, but a moderator can, I have reported it which sends them a notification.

You can try to remove the lines that reference the .nvram file from the .ovf file using a text editor.
