Hi,
Unsure if this is the right place to get some some advice.
I've encountered some difficulties while trying to install VMware Workstation 16.2.3. 19376536 x86_64.
Typically, the linux world likes to use wget and uses the https address to download. However, it's not possible with the version mentioned above. The download address is https://www.vmware.com/go/getworkstation-linux and if you add the file name it would be: https://www.vmware.com/go/getworkstation-linux/VMware-Workstation-Full-16.2.3-19376536.x86_64.bundle
However, you've can't download the application. You get the typical 403: forbidden message.
Additionally, if you download the file by conventional means. You get: application/octet-stream; charset=binary when you use file -i
Because the bundle doesn't have a magic number.
In sum, this application is not as friendly as it should be, nor as compatible as advertised.
Could anyone provide an alternate opinion on these issues.
Thanks,

Thread reported to moderators, it needs moving to the area for Workstation since Horizon is something entirely different.

Hi,
If you download with your browser then you can locate the download URL in the download manager of your browser.

Thank Wil,
Will this version work with the current registration credentials?
https://download3.vmware.com/software/WKST-1623-LX-New/VMware-Workstation-Full-16.2.3-19376536.x86_6...
I've downloaded it but the URL syntax appears to be missing some punctuation marks .....WKST-1623-LX-New/....
I'll try it out again and reply,
Thanks,

Thanks for the suggestion Scott, but I can't find "workstation" in the VMware community tree? Would you be able to provide me a link to that section of the boards?
Thanks,

Look at the “path” of your thread just above your initial post, you’ll see it has now been moved.

Hi,
If you have a license for Workstation 16 then it will work.
re. "punctuation points" that's the yakkity forum software shortening the visual part of the URL.
The download link itself is fine (which you can see, because if you click it, then it will download the software)
You can right click on the link and select "copy link" or something along those lines in your browser to get the full hyperlink as I pasted it into my previous reply to you.
