If you use a vmnet0 with NAT very likely your vmx-files are invalid.
Just do not do it - or read http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-network.html
if you want to be stubborn.
Do not change vmnet0, 1 and 8 - the GUI that writes the vmx-files can not deal with that.
