Virtual Network Editor - Administrator only

Hi,

after recent windows update few weeks ago I found out that bridged network VMnet1 disappeared from my configurations.
Usually it disappeared after every windows update, but then I was able to reconfigure my networks.
But now it is not possible.

When I open Virtual Network Editor as standard windows user I can modify settings only as administrator.
After I modify settings as administrator I cannot see the configuration of bridged network.

Only if I run VMWare as administrator then I can see VMnet1 bridged configuration.

This is what I see as standard user.

Do you know any solution how I can configure bridged networks so I can run VMWare as standard user and not administratorr?
I use VMWare Workstation Pro 16 16.2.3 build-19376536

Hi,

Seems some permissions are wrong somewhere.
What that "somewhere" is, is everyone's guess.
In your case I would try a full uninstall of VMware Workstation -> reboot -> reinstall

Also, it's best to leave the default networks of VMnet1 (host-only) and VMnet8 (NAT) alone. Redefine 0, 2-7 and 9 as desired.

If you use a vmnet0 with NAT very likely your vmx-files are invalid.
Just do not do it - or read http://sanbarrow.com/vmx/vmx-network.html
if you want to be stubborn.

Do not change vmnet0, 1 and 8 - the GUI that writes the vmx-files can not deal with that.
