(Ubuntu) Switching Workspaces in Fullscreen mode ?

Normally in Ubuntu you can use "Alt+Left or Right" to

switch workspaces (desks), I use this feature all the time to switch

between different applications. I'd like to also use this feature to

switch to/from a vmware VirtualMachine that is running in Fullscreen

mode, But when I have a VM running in fullscreen mode it captures all

the keystrokes, so "Alt+Left or Right" gets sent to the VM (Guest OS)

instead of to Ubuntu...

Is there a way to setup vmware Workstation to ignore "Alt+Left or

Right" in the Guest OS and send the command to the Host OS (Ubuntu)?

Or at the very least is there a way to switch workspaces with out having to exit fullscreen mode?

You can customize the hot keys as per you wish, for that you need to go to preferences & there u need to select hot key tab in that u can change the hot keys.

after applying the changes u need to restart the guest VM. to apply the same settings.

Yes, but that is to ungrab input focus from the guest to the host, and it will terminate exclusive full-screen. So how would that help him to switch from a full screen guest on one host workspace to another host workspace?

Noel is right,

What this allows me todo is to first hit the hotkeys to switch input focus and then "Alt+Left or Right" to switch workspaces/desktops, It would be nice if I could simply switch workspaces w/out first having to use the VM hotkey to change input focus...

Possibly with the use of installed VMtools on the guest OS, it would be neat if you could setup a way to ignore all "Alt+Left or Right" key combinations on the Guest OS, and send those commands to the Host instead???
