Error while powering on: Failed to start the virtual machine.

I have tried everything. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my virtual machine, installed another machine to see if I could open it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled vmware workstation, I then tried to clear all files relating to VMware in my program files and reinstall and still nothing. I keep getting the error "Error while powering on: Failed to start the virtual machine." I have turned off hyper v and nothing changed. What should I do?

You are the second person I’ve seen recently to report an issue while running a Canary channel version of Windows.  Both indicate a failure by the ULM (Hyper-V) to create a virtual CPU for a virtual machine.

It’s not unexpected that pre release software breaks production applications. What you are seeing is in my mind either a regression in the Canary channel version of Windows or a change in Hyper-V API that VMware has not adapted to yet because the change doesn’t exist in current GA Windows versions. I would see if this issue can be re-created with a Retail channel build of Windows 11 (22621.xxxx).

You might want to flag this to Microsoft as a compatibility issue if this can not be reproduced on the current retail channel release.
