USB 3.0 support in W7 x64 guest under W7 x64 host.

I am afraid this question has been answered, but I have done many searches with no luck.  It looks like USB 3.0 support works under certain Linux guests but I can find no definitive answers about W7 guest.  I changed the Settings to USB 3.0 (got message about needing driver).  When it did not see the USB stick I plugged in, I opened the Device Manager (guest) and saw a yellow bang on Other devices, "Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller".  There is no driver.  I tried several ideas but none worked.  Details showed the Vendor ID as 15AD (VMware) and the Device ID shows 0778 (Sabrent USB-to-Parallel Adapter).  The device ID does not make much sense to me.  Is there a driver available to satisfy W7 guest?  Thanks and enjoy, John.

EDIT:  It looks like my signature (containing VMware version information) is no longer shown in the post: Player, 6.0.1 build-1379776

I would really appreciate it if someone would share their USB 3.0 experience under W7 host/guest.  Shortly after my USB 3.0 test failures I installed a new copy of W7 in my guest.  The mouse pointer preformed very strangely until I change the USB back to version 2.0.  It behaved like the focus was not in the VM window.  Most of the time the mouse pointer was a pointing hand not an arrow and left or right clicking did nothing.  If I clicked many, many times it would change to an arrow until I did something, then it would change back to a pointing hand.  There must be some knowledge/fix of/for this.  I am running W7 x64 in both my host and guest and Player 6.0.1 build-1379776.  Thanks and enjoy, John.

I have the same problem.

Windows 7 x64 guest on Windows 8.1 x64 host.

In the VM guest, device with yellow bang comes up: VEN_15AD&DEV_0778&SUBSYS_077815AD

I'm running VM Player 6.0.3

So where can we get this driver?

VMware does not support USB 3.0 under Windows 7 with VMware Fusion/Player/Workstation because Microsoft did not include drivers and software stack to support generic xHCI/USB 3.0 controllers in Windows 7 like they have in Windows 8.

I sort of understand what you're saying. So the missing stack accounts for the dev id? Is there anything at all we could do about this? Should I upgrade to Vista?
