Help deploy VMware Horizon 8

Hi all,

I am deploying VMware Horizon 8 to my company with the following information:

 - My company has 2 sites (1500 km distance). Can I deploy 2 connection servers (In a Pod) on each site?

 - I have a license with 100 Concurrent Users: Can I create 1 pool ( Dedicated assigned and Full - CLone) with 200 VMs, and assign it to 200 Users?

 - I am enabling Secure Tunnel and PCoIP/Blast Secure Gateway, what data will be transferred through this tunnel?

Thanks/

Hi, @LeHongTung .

I don't know if this answers your question, but I'll do my best to answer it.

Q1.
Is it possible to build a stand-alone Connection Server at SiteA , SiteB respectively?

A1.
Yes, it is possible.

Q2.
I have 100 CCU licenses.
Is it possible to assign 200 users to the deployed desktop pool?

A2.
Yes, it is possible.

Q3.
I have Secure Tunnel and PCoIP/Blast Secure Gateway enabled.
What data is transferred through this tunnel?

A3.
Session information will flow.
When using Secure Gateway, when a user is connected to the VDI,
Connection Server is shut down, the session is disconnected.

Without Secure Gateway, the session communicates directly with the virtual machine that has the Horizon Agent installed, so shutting down the Connection Server while a user is connected is not a problem.

Hi,  yukiafronia

Thanks for your answer, it is solving my problems.
I have one more question: VMware Horizon provides some kind of encryption to improve data security. If PCoIP/Blast Secure Gateway is disabled, the data won't be encrypted right?

Hi, @LeHongTung

This is the communication flow when PCoIP/Blast Secure Gateway is not used, but when PCoIP/Blast Secure Gateway is used, the communication from the Connection Server onward is also encrypted, so it is safe.

So, I think your opinion is correct.
