Optimization Tool and Windows update

Horizon 2012, Windows 10 1909 gold image fully optimized with b2003 tool.   I reran the opti tool to run Windows Update, keeping the Defer Feature Update button checked.  Among the Windows updates that installed, Feature Update 20H2 installed, when I expected it would be deferred.  Anyone else seen this behavior, or have a hint as to what I missed?

I am running into the same problem. I have 1909 with the newly redesigned Optimization Tool (2106), and it still tries to force me to update to 2004.

Here are the steps that I am doing to reproduce the issue:

  • Load up the OSOT
  • Analyze the image
  • Verify that everything under the subcategory Windows Update is green.
    • When I analyze at this point I see the following options that are no longer green
      • Disable Windows Update - Service
      • Disable Automatic Update - Machine Policy
      • Disable Windows Update scan access - Machine Policy
      • Turn off access to all Windows Update features - Machine Policy
      • Do not connect to any Windows Update Internet locations - Machine Policy
      • Disable Office 2016 Update Feature - Machine Policy
      • Defer receiving quality updates Days - Machine Policy
      • Defer receiving quality updates Start Time - Machine Policy
      • Disable Update Orchestrator - Service
      • Disable Windows Update Scheduled Start - Scheduled Task
      • Disable Windows Update Medic - Service
      • Take Feature Updates from Semi-Annual Channel - Machine Policy
      • Pause Feature Updates StartTime - Machine Policy
  • Update tab>Enable Windows Update with Defer Feature Updates checked
  • Run Windows Update
