App Volumes & RDSH

I have instant clone RDSH VMs deployed. I want to publish a streamed application from an AppStack. How do you publish the app within the Application Pool when using App Volumes?

I read through this thread but it didn't answer my question (the app doesn't show up through the list of apps installed on the RDSH servers): Published applications using RDSH Manual Farm and App Volumes

EDIT: I may have found the answer:

Quick-Start Tutorial for VMware App Volumes | VMware

This basically states that you must publish a remote desktop session that in turn has the shortcuts to the AppStacks that you have assigned to the RDSH OU. If there is another way to do this please let me know - the goal is to stream apps seamlessly to the end-users device, without having to RDP into anything first.

HI

You are looking at the right documentation Quick-Start Tutorial for VMware App Volumes | VMware

Once you have assigned the appstack to the RDSH computer OU (RDSH only support computer-based assignment for appstacks: VMware Knowledge Base ), you can create a new application pool in horizon view and select the remote applications from the AppStack assigned to the RDSH server.

That is correct, thank you.

I would like to also add that you don't need to add the AppStack as a manual application pool (Application Pools > Add > Add Manually). Run a "Recover" on each RDSH instant clone, which will automatically attach the AppStack to each clone. Once the App Volumes are attached, they will show up as an Installed Application when creating new Application Pools.
