How to Change IP Address of VMware View Security Server

Hi Guys,

I'm using VMware Horizon View 5.3.2 and I'd like to change the IP Address of View Security Server. Is changing the IP Address easy e.g. Change the IP Address of the View Security Server and restart View Security service. Would this work for me or do I have to make some other modifications in order to make it work.

Regards

Take a look and make sure your PCOIP External IP doesn't need to change too.   You can find that in View administrator under security server.

Hi mittim,

Thanks for the quick reply. PCoIP External URL IP is a Public IP address and I won't need to change that in my case. I'm only concerned about the View Security Server IP Address.

So I'm all good to change the IP Address and restart the service. Please guide me if there is anything else I need to be aware of.

Cheers

Well you can only be certain by testing in development before making the change on production servers.   I would also strongly consider a backup and recovery plan.     I searched and couldn't find anything other an the PCOIP external IP that seemed to stick out.   You should double check the host file for the paired connection broker and security server to make sure no one has made any modifications that would be tied to the old IP.

If things don't work out you should be able to quickly remove the security server, reinstall, and pair it with a connection broker by new IP rather quickly.
