We downgraded the display drivers on the parent image and it seems to have resolved the issue. VMware Tools 10.1.10 installs VMware SVGA driver version 8.15.1.60. Instead of downgrading the tools we just downgraded the video drivers to 8.15.1.50. Additional testing still needs to be completed but if anyone knows of any issues that could occur as a result of this please let me know.
