Hi,
We have configured a GPO to enable bi-directional clipboard access/sharing.
We are using nested desktop sessions (ie. from an existing Desktop Pool we are opening a new Desktop Pool).
Both the source/destination have the VMware Blast GPO configured "Enabled in both directions". We verified the registry settings on the source/destination and they received the policy.
Still and all we cannot copy/paste. Any ideas why?

Clipboard redirection uses virtual channels so make sure it's enabled.

We aren’t using PCoIP but BLAST and to my understanding Virtual Channels aren’t configurable/relevant there

Could you please check via gpresult if the GPO is really applied to the Desktops?
What are you trying to Copy&Paste? Text or Files? Maybe you need to adjust the Clipboard size also via GPO if you try to Copy&Paste Files larger than 1MB.

Hi, I'm using the Windows Horizon client. Trying to copy from my Host OS (windows 10) to/from the VM (Windows 10).
On the VM registry I configured the following GPO values:
In addition, I also tried to manually configure this registry setting:
Configuring the Client Clipboard Memory Size (value of 8192 decimal) [despite the fact that is was configured in the above GPO
When viewing the Blast logs on the VM I see the following entry:
Blast-Worker-SessionId1.log
2018-08-22 07:59:00.473+0300 [INFO ] 0x0ae0 config::LogAllKeyValues: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware Blast\Config\ClipboardState = 1
Blast-Service.log
2018-08-22 08:10:03.493+0300 [INFO ] 0x1b2c config::LogAllKeyValues: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\VMware, Inc.\VMware Blast\Config\ClipboardState = 1
Now I do see in the above log an entry like this:
2018-08-21 14:50:46.670+0300 [INFO ] 0x07c8 config::LogAllKeyValues: Default ClipboardState = 2
Not sure though if that came there from when the VM was created and before it received the updated GPO. Still, even manually though I updated the policy and also restarted the Blast and client services on both the source/destination.
And just to be clear, I am trying to copy/paste a word, no pictures or anything large or complex. I haven't seen any issues with blast on this but it seems like everyone is not using Blast.
Does it work for you?

Yes working for me with just the GPO for Blast set to "both directions".
Just checked the Reg Key, and it is the same as yours in the Policy secdtion.
ClipboardState REG_SZ 1
I don't have any other setting regarding the Clipboard.

Is there a way to downgrade the VMware tools?
Or do I even need them? What do they do in a VDI environment?

My Clipboard is working with 10.2.5 and 10.3.0 (latest seems not to be in the Matrix anymore for support).
Best regards
Andreas

I upgraded to 10.2.5 and I still cannot copy/paste text or files from my windows 10 pc to the guest windows 10 vm.
does the registry key need to exist on BOTH the guest and host os or just on the VDI guest machine alone?
any other suggestions?

Hi reuvygroovy,
Maybe this Horizon View 7.5: the clipboard does not work in RDSH (Win 2012r2) thread applies?
