Hi
Would like to know what is the maximum period of time we can record events in event database. I remember last time i was in view admin console, you couldnt set the eventdb to record events for more than a month. please correct me if iam wrong as i cant remember and dont have access to the console.
i skim through the intergration guide and could find the answer.
Also would like to know if its possible to intergrate non-vmware tools to record events within vmware view or tools with similar abilities.
Thanks.

Hi Varcity
Within the GUI by default, VMware View displays events for 3 months, you can go until 6 months, older events are still stored in DB for external queries, for example.
Hope this helps!

Correct. You can view events from 1 Week to 6 Months. This can be configured in Admin Console. Older events will go to historical tables and will not be displayed in Admin Console.
Events will not be recorded for non vmware tools and can't integrated.
Thanks,
Uday

Well View is really just dumping it into SQL. If you know someone with good SQL skills then you could easily retrieve whatever you were looking for.

Your question is whether, non-vmware tools events can also be recorded in View event databse.
The non vmware tool(s) should be made to dump it's events to the View event database for you to retrive them from Admin UI. Not aware of any third party solutions already available.
