So you migrated to a new vCenter when going to 4.1?   As far as I know VIew will not allow you to remove a link to vCenter as long as there are still pools and desktops created on that vCenter.   

i created a new vcenter and the database is on a remote server so it wasn't afffected.

Ok, well I don't think you can remove the old vCenter instance until you can move all the VDI machines to the new vCenter. 

How do i move the VDI machines to teh new vcenter?  I'm not sure what you're saying here.

Well the fact that you have two vCenter servers listed in View Admin implies that you are managing host and VM's with both vCenters.  In order to remove the old one from View there can not be any pools associated with it.  That means you have to transfer everything over to the new vCenter in order to remove the old one.

I guess i'm confused on what to transfer and how that gets done.

You may be able to edit the current pools to the new vCenter. I'm not in front of a PC to test but try to edit the pool and look under vCenter settings to see if it's possible.

Upgrading existing vCenter is possible, Instead of moving pools across vCenter.

I dont think there is a easy way to migrate pools to a different vCenter in a few clicks (specifically if automated pools are defined at source vcenter server)

After upgrading the vCenter Server, new ESX servers can be added and new clusters can be defined.

Further existing pools can be edited to select new Cluster and datasore. After this, performing a rebalance will place the pool to the new resource pool/host cluster and datasore.

What i am going to end up doing is creating a new pool and transferring the user data drive to the new pool.  This is really the issue that i have.  I can use the same image with the new pool but the Userdisk on the old VM has to be transfereed to the new one.  If anyone knows an easy way to make this happen i am all ears.  Thanks for all the help.
