is Vmotion important for VDI
vsphere advanced edition have vmotion, standard editon have not, but more cheaper. if my ESX run only desktop, is vmotion that important? can i use only HA (without DRS) to deploy VDI?
any suggestion?

We have ESX and no vMotion and we are fine for 4 years now. vMotion is nice if you want HA and if you run many ESX servers. We have only 4 and if you plan to bring servers down, we simply shut them down and restart them on the new server (vmdk files are on a netapp san).

Well as View comes with a copy of VMware Enterprise, this is a little bit of a moot question. you have it. that said, personally I do not seen the need for HA, DRS or vMotion on VDI guests. Server based OSes yes. Desktops No
