Cannot copy and paste from Mac OS 10.11 Host to Ubuntu 12.04 VM
I would like to be able to use copy and paste from my OS X 10.11 host to a Ubuntu 12.04 VM (Terminal app) but I cannot get it to work.
In the VM settings I am using the Mac keyboard profile, and under VM Settings / Isolation "Enable Copy and Paste" is ticked.
If I copy anything to the host clipboard, I cannot paste it into the VM.
Where have I gone wrong?

I have the same problem. I have a Fusion 8 on OSX 10.11 and Linux Mint 17 as guest. Copy-paste does not work in any direction neither through shortcuts nor context menu. I do have copy-paste checked in isolation.
I tried reinstalling vmware tools and confirmed that vmtoolsd process is running.

Hi Kenny,
Suggest to uninstall and reinstall vmware tools like this:
1. Run 'sudo apt-get remove open-vm-tools' in Terminal.
2. Run 'sudo apt-get purge open-vm-tools-desktop open-vm-tools' in Terminal.
3. Reboot vm.
4. Re-install vmware tools as regular steps.
Hope helpful~

I find that although CMD+C / CMD+V don't work, I can drag and drop text from the host into the VM. So that suits me for now!
