Windows 11 Install Issues - from Unofficial Fusion 13 for Apple Silicon Companion Guide

@Technogeezer I was able to move forward with the install and I'm at step 14. I paused after I saw your reply to share my vmx file. Please see attached. Thanks.

Thanks for sharing this.

The vmx file looks good to me at first glance. May I ask how you got by the original issue of "this PC doesn't won't run Windows"?...

Still not sure. It may have been that I did not check off secure boot, however, I could have sworn I did. I know I setup a TPN encryption password and verified this in my keychain.

Anyway, I was finally able to install and currently installing Windows updates. The only thing I'm still wondering, is I had 3 versions of Windows in my ISO all from Sept 2022. And in your instructions, there were two versions from Jan 2023.

But looks like Windows just finished updating, and my Windows 10 license key worked. So I think I'm ill set.

Thank you for your help and also for making the guide. It was very helpful.

That was an old screen shot in the Guide from when the ISO was built using the older procedure. That procedure used drastically different processes under the hood and different source material from Microsoft, resulting in the more "modern" date.

The ISO built from Microsoft using the new procedure is the 22H2 GA "Retail" release from September which is fine to install from. Those dates are as you see them released on a "real" distribution from Microsoft. As you are noticing, it will update itself to the latest monthly update.

I'll update the screen shot in the next version of the guide to reflect dates that you'd see today.
