Preventing Fusion from forcing Default Apps to open in VM when they should be open in Mac Host.

Having very frustrating times with Fusion not allowing us to accept the default applications on the Mac, and instead it defaults always back to the Windows application which unnecessarily starts the VM.

While there is a setting to enable the Windows OS to open files from the Mac (which we want the guest to open only a few specific file types that we can't run natively - like Visio, etc), it's not seemingly configurable.

I've seen a few threads on here without any real answer so figured I'd ask a different way and add a screenshot.

If I have an application installed on both the guest and the host that can handle a certain file type, and I want the host to always open it.  If I right click on the file and pick the Host app, set as default - then that works ONLY for that specific file. The next PCAP I try to open is defaulted to the guest OS.  I've attached a screenshot trying to tell the Mac to always default PCAP wireshark files to the host, but Fusion takes over and always defaults to the guest.  That particular file if I change the default application and always open with, it only works for that single file.

MacOS Monterey 12.0.1

Fusion Pro: 12.2.1

Anyone solve this issue?
