What exactly is the error that you're getting on the ping?

From what system are you 'ping'ing the VM's IP address and FQDN?

Have you done basic DNS troubleshooting?

• What is your DNS server address?
• What does a DNS query via nslookup or dig (on both the system you are pinging from) say is the IP address of your VM?
