I bought this fusion 12 pro license because I assumed there would be close integration with my ESXi server but I am not even able to copy and paste text from local machine to guest OS that is hosted on my ESXi server. Copy and Paste works for locally installed/stored VM's. Also, If I use a Remote Desktop application to connect to same machine, the clipboard is shared, and I can copy and paste, no problem
Am I missing something? I checked all settings and do not see anything that would enable/disable clipboard sharing. I am running on hardware version 15, the newest available. And Yes I installed VMware tools. I tried installing it from the server admin, and from fusion, but the clipboard will not share.
I would love to reach out to Vmware support but that seems non-existent after a whole 30 days.

Hi,
AFAIK ESXi disables clipboard sharing by default...
See this blog post to enable it:
