We found a serious defect in the Fusion build (#32652) as documented below:

Issue: If you cancel a drag and drop operation before it completes, the system accidentally deletes all the files in the destination directory. This will cause in irrepairable data loss.

Recommendation: We resolved the issue and have an updated build (#33141) available now. Please download the latest binaries from http://www.vmware.com/programs/16/FusionBeta.do.
