Outlook 2003 ThinApp Reading Pane Issue

Hi,

I am having an issue getting Office 2003 to ThinApp sussessfully without bugs, The problem is with Outlook where in the reading pane is blank for HTML emails but only when run on my Terminal Server which is tied down with nothing installed, if I run on another system not tied down it works.

My build process is

1. Clean Win XP no service pack

2. Start Capture

3. Install Office 2003 full install

4. Install all updates

5. Build

Do I need to capture any .net frameworks of something? the machine it does not work on is a Windows 2003 R2 x64 Terminal Server.

Thanks

Joolz

Joolz,

Here is a step by step instructions on ThinApping Office 2003.

Can you also try enabling WOW64 in the package.ini?

As a side-note:

We have the best experience by having Microsoft Office installed native. This as many applications do intend to integrate with office or require certain functionalities (like 'send a mail'). Having to make these functionalities available externally is quite a pain...

During migrations we often on the other hand do have to provide certialn parts of office for backward compatibility. For example access to open the 'old format' database as the new local version will intend to upgrade the DB on open, corrupting it or making it no longer accessible for the users of the old version.

For outlook we in general have no real issues as long as the best practices are followed. These can be found on the link provided by Lakshman (credits to him). Just keep in mind that a 2GB mailbox will end up in your sandbox... If this is in your (roaming) profile be prepared for long login times!
