Install Error when installing thinapp via View Admin onto XP
Hello -
I created a Google Chrome thinapp and put into my repository. I then assigned it to a Windows 7 and a XP VM. It installed on the Windows 7 but will not install on the XP VM. I am getting the following error on the XP VM....
An error occurred while installing.
Name: VM NAME
VM id: ea9ac7bd-bf40-4d66-843d-1ad0fb4905c9
I can go to the XP VM and run the MSI on it and it will install. I have had this very same problem with other XM VM's where the thinapp will install on the WIndows 7 but not the XP VM. Does anyone on here have any idea what is going on? Thanks

I am still needing someone's assistance with this, please. I currently have one VM that is on the domain that I cannot add any thinapps to it from VIEW Admin. If the user goes to the repository and runs the MSI file the thinapp installs. I have another VM that is not on the domain and when I try to assign a thinapp to the VM I receive an install error in VIEW. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried reinstall the View Agent? Installing ThinApps entitled through View Manager is a job for View Agent.
If not, perhaps you will find more replies if you post in the View forum. View entitlements of ThinApps is more a View thing..

The machine not on the Domain probably won't work because the computer account needs RO permissions to the share holding the thinapps. When entitling thinapps to computers it should happen without logging off or rebooting but it may take up to 5 minutes. When entitling thinapps to the pool, it requires a reboot.
Also if you have folder redirection policies you may not be able to create the shortcuts.
