I'm afraid not.
The VMware.VumAutomation module is one of the few modules that doesn't support PowerShell v6 yet.
And so you can't use the VUM cmdlets on a Linux platform (for now).

Any API/SDK available to automate VUM? Any pyvmomi module to interact with VUM?

Thanks a lot!! So the only way available to interact/automate VUM is PowerCLI (Powershell for windows). If our environment is Linux and if we want to interact/automate VUM then we still need windows host with Powershell/PowerCLI to do the job.
Any enhancement in the upcoming major release or in their committed roadmap?

I don't work for VMware, I have no idea what their roadmap looks like.

There is also a vRO plugin for Update Manager.
