vCenter Server update failed
Hi guys,
Unfortunately the Source Pre-Check fails for me when I want to perform an update.
The error message is "VMDir replication is not working correctly".
What happened?
- tried to add a vCenter Server 6.7 to the SSO domain
- failed (probably due to different versions. 6.7 vs. 8.0)
- but now the vCenter Server 6.7 is hanging around as a zombie replication partner on the vCenter Server 8.0
- tried to remove the vCenter Server 6.7 failed
- cmsso-util unregister as well as vdcrepadmin -f removeagreement have already been tried.
Does anyone else have ideas or suggestions on how I can remove the Zombie Server as a Replication Partner?
Viele Grüße/Kind regards,
Karsten Klinger (Polygran GmbH)

Please check vmdir state and service status
/usr/lib/vmware-vmdir/bin/vdcadmintool
If it is in read only mode make it Normal

Did you ever get this resolved? We have been stuck on the same error for a while now and unable to proceed with update. Tried cmsso-util unregister as well.
