uninstalled vum but still appears under service status
I installed VUM on a separate vm from my vcenter server. I uninstalled VUM but in vcenter service status it's still showing the vmware vpshere update manager extension with an alert (can'r retrieve health data) and I still see it in manage plugins. How can I remove VUM so it also removes it's hooks from vcenter?
This is version 5.1U1
Thanks

Hi,
If you are sure that VUM is removed than you can manually remove plugin from vCenter.
Follow this KB: Removing unwanted plug-ins from vCenter Server (1025360)

I followed that and it removed the plugin.
The problem is under Home > Administration > vCenter Service Status I still have an alert saying the VMware vSphere Update Manager Extension is unable to retrieve health data from the vum server I uninstalled. How do I remove that from the list of services?

ok, that was weird. I was looking around on the /mob web page to see if there were any clues and the VUM item on the service status page just disappeared about 5 minutes after I removed the plugin. I guess I just had to be patient. Thanks
