We had a situation were our flash drive running ESXi 5.0 started to go bad so we purchased a new one and installed ESXi 5.5 onto it. All our VM's are up and running however I am stuck on the attached screen. It's been doing that for over and hour at this point and I have to leave soon. If I close my browser window will the upgrade continue in the background?
Also what happens if it fails? Can I just install an new Vcenter Appliance 5.5 from scratch without importing anything from the old one and are there any downsides to that?

Hello,
I would think that if you close the browser it may stop the upgrade.
If it fails , you can install or deploy a new VC appliance 5.5. The only downside would be - you will be losing the performance charts and resource pools if you have any. And you may need to re-add the hosts back to the VC. It usually depends on the number of hosts - if you have less than 5 hosts starting from scratch should be No hassle.
Thanks,
Avinash
