No files or apps on Ubuntu 18.04 VM
I used vCenter Standalone Coverter to convert a laptop running Ubuntu 18.04 LTS into a VM.
I foolishly assumed that the process had been successful (I had just done this for a Windows laptop and it worked completely when I ran the VM on another computer).
I've just recently opened the VM on VMware Workstation 16 Player and it turns on, I'm prompted to login to Ubuntu, everything seems to be starting and working as it should........but none of my files or applications are on the system......other than being logged into my account it looks like a completely fresh install of the OS.
The conversion was done in about March 2020 so it would've been done with the latest version of vCenter Converter available for Ubuntu at that time.
I'm guessing something didn't work properly during the conversion....and currently assuming this is a hopeless situation.
