Hi All,
I see a error when doing P2V using converter 5.5.0 (An error occurred while opening a virtual disk. Verify that the converter server and the running source machines have a network access to the source and destination ESX/ESXi hosts).
Any suggestions are welcomed.
Target is vCenter here and from there selected ESX host where the VM gets created and then deleted.
Logs attached.
Regards,
Ajay

Please, check if source machine can resolve the target DNS name and port 902 is open.
Take a look at this KB article for additional troubleshooting steps: VMware KB: Troubleshooting checklist for VMware Converter
- Verify that DNS and reverse DNS lookups are working. It may be necessary to make entries into the local hosts file on source machine. Use IP addresses, if possible.

I did added target ESX IP as well as the ESX Host server name with FQDN in the source hosts file...but the error still persists.
The communication path is as follows:
The servers need's to be migrated from one utility hosting to another utility hosting (Ex: ABC1 to ABC2) which are 2 different networks....we are migrating via a migration servers which can discover source as well as vCenter IP address and then while submitting the job the error occurs..
Now where should i add the IP in the source server or migration server or in the vCenter server...Please help me..
Source+Migration+vCenter+ESX Host (communication path for the migration to be completed)

Ajay

You should ensure connection between machine to be converted (a.k.a. source machine) to destination ESX at port 902.
