VCenter appeared this morning with this error on the portal
[400] An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server - An error occurred when processing the metadata during vCenter Single Sign-On setup - Cannot connect to the VMware Component Manager https://vcenter.***.***/cm/sdk?
There are not logs related to certs errors or expiration, the current is valid until 2024
Edited /etc/host files as recommended here https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/89711 however did not make any change
service-control --start vmware-cm does not start producing this output
/var/log/vmware/cm/cm.log
This is recursive
/etc/init/d/vmware-stdsd restart output

If you've edited the file it might be worth giving the resolver services a kick
systemctl restart systemd-resolved
systemctl restart dnsmasq
Could you also share the host file with the IP addressing blanked out?

Hi thanks for your reply, I have edited the file removing real domain and ip entries
Added the photon-machine today and the ipv4 lines and commented out IPv6, but even restarting systemd resolved and dnsmasq services did not work
Rebooted even still the same
Got a log from vpxd service which still not starting
