Hi
I am trying to alter the alterate DNS record for an esx5.1 host through vCenter but receive the following error;
The operation cannot be performed while the host is part of a Windows domain.
The host is joined to the domain, but has a static IP configuration. I would prefer to change the record without disrupting the VM's on the host.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
M

FYI I got around this issue by leaving the domain, altering the DNS settings, then rejoining domain.

You can also change it directly from DCUI, or using PowerCli. it works fine and worked for me.
