You need to set the following advanced settings on the VMs. You will be able to copy & paste VMs between your laptop and the guest os.

isolation.tools.copy.disable                    FALSE
isolation.tools.paste.disable                   FALSE
isolation.tools.setGUIOptions.enable     TRUE
