Using NIC Adapter for ESXi Host (7.0.2) and VDS concurrently
Hello all,
I like to use a 10G NIC adapter for both the ESXi host and VDS concurrently. When I switch on the adapter on the host it will be gone on this host in VDS. When I try to get the NIC in VDS back, it works fine but the host lost these. Is it possible to use an NIC adapter for both at all?

NICs in ESXi are uplink ports - each NIC port is physically plugged into a single port on your physical switch, and is also associated to a single virtual switch.
Combining your VMkernel ports and VM port groups into a single virtual switch which uses your NIC port as the uplink is the way to do this, using VLANs to segregate traffic if required.
