Same Nic card gives 2 Vendor Identifiers resulting in 2 firmware/driver recommendations
I am trying to determine which driver firmware combination i need to use for this card and here is the problem i am facing.
Name PCI Device Driver Admin Status Link Status Speed Duplex MAC Address MTU Description
------ ------------ ------ ------------ ----------- ----- ------ ----------------- ---- -----------
vmnic0 0000:1a:00.0 i40enu Up Up 10000 Full e4:43:4b:5f:fd:98 1500 Intel(R) Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+
vmnic1 0000:1a:00.1 i40enu Up Up 10000 Full e4:43:4b:5f:fd:9a 1500 Intel(R) Ethernet Controller X710 for 10GbE SFP+
When i try to get the vid, sid, etc for the card ports vmnic0/1 i get different numbers hence different compatibility matrix results:
8086:1572 1028:1f99 vmkernel vmnic0
http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=38745
8086:1572 1028:0000 vmkernel vmnic1
https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/detail.php?deviceCategory=io&productid=38743
Which one of the 2 should i use given that the 2 ports come from the same card?
Thanks in advance
