With VMware vSphere Essential you don't have that much to chose from but if you upgrade to
VMware vSphere Essentials Plus you can take Advantage of:
1. VMware High Availability (VMHA)
When a physical server goes down or loses all network connectivity, VMHA steps in and migrates the virtual guest machines off of that server and onto another server. This way, the virtual machines can be up and running again in just the time that it takes them to reboot. (At least 2 ESXi host systems)
2. vSphere Data Protection (VDP)
vSphere Data Protection is a backup and recovery solution designed for vSphere environments. can be deployed to Virtual Machine File System (VMFS), Network File System (NFS) and Virtual SAN datastores. Virtual machines can be restored to a different location and/or renamed as part of the restore process.
