Hi Everyone,
I am registering question with a hope to get the resolution of my problem from this forum.
I have recently converted a Windows 2003 Server to VM and it is working fine on VMWare Vsphere 4 but the problem I am foreseeing is the size of VM which is going to full shortly as only 5 GB space left. I have tried to increase the size of the VM but the option to increase is disabled. I have also tried to use VMware Converter to change the size of the VM but the option to change the VM size does not appear. I would appreciate if any of you has any experience or idea to increase the VM size?
Regards
Waydees

There is no such thing as VM size. I suppose you're referring to virtual disk size.
Do you have IDE virtual disk, or any snapshots for VM?

Anton is spot on, it will be due to you having a snapshot on the vm. You can't extend a virtual machines drive size if it has a snapshot attached.

If you don't want to delete the snapshots and Increase the C drive size in VM, you can use the stand alone VMware converter to convert the Virtual Machine.

Naveed,
using the converter, you should be able to choose the controller type for the target VM. Choose "LSI Logic parallel" which is the default for Windows 2003. This way you can grow the disk size in the future without issues.

Have you tried to create a snaphot, then go into snapshot manager and select "delete all" Might be that an old snapshot hasnt cleared properly even though isnt showing in snapshot manager?
