How does VMware behave when cloning VM with multiple Hard Disks

Hi,

I have a VM running Solaris 10, and this VM has two hard disks. On one of the hard disks I have the OS and the other hard disk is used for storage. The hard disk used for storage has a ZFS file system on it. If I were to clone this VM, how would VMware handle the cloning? I am guessing that the cloning will create a clone of the hard disk that the OS is installed on, correct? If so, will I need to unmount the storage hard disk from the original VM and mount it on the new VM in order to have the second VM be the same as the original one? Or will it also attempt to clone the hard disk that is used for the storage?

A clone of a VM creates a copy of all vmdks that are attached to the VM - it does make no difference between a system-vmdk and a data-vmdk.

If you want to clone the system vmdk only use vmkfstools to clone the vmdk
