hi, i develope a tools want to install into vm when it`s state is stop;

how to 'insert' that to vm`s image disk? could any one give suggestion for me?

en,yes it can complete when have the aid of vmware tools!

but not my means, i just want know the principle of vmware tools implement,

what the process of vmware tools to achive this?

sorry I doubt I completely understand your question ...

if you ask how to "install vmware tools" button works ....

1. while the guest is running the CD device that is connected at the moment is disconnected
2. ESXi assigns the vmware-tools iso file to the guest
3. in case autorun in not disabled inside the guest the vmware-tools installer gets auto started
4. installation of vmware-tools
5. when finished with success the vmware-tools send a signal to the ESXi to disconnect the vmware-tools iso
6. ESXi reconnects the CD device that was previously used
