Hi,
We are using ESXi 5.1 Update 3 and in the middle of setting up a CentOS 7 VM.
From VMware KB, it recommends using "Open VM Tools" that comes along with the Linux ISO Image.
On the other hand, some fellow mentions that we have to install "VMware Tools" for using VNXNET3 adapter.
Just would like to seek your advice which VM Tools and Network Adapter are recommended for CentOS 7.

You do not have to install any of them to use vmxnet3 adapter. Its driver is part of kernel-tree since 2.6.32 and actively maintained. "Tools" (either Open, or VMware) gives you possibility to shutdown cleanly VM from ESXi-host. But if all you are looking for is a way to use vmxnet3, you do not need them...
